At Essa Dental Centre, we are a family oriented dental office. We have been performing dental services for over 40 years. We are proud to have been servicing many generations of families for years. Our patients started out as young families and brought their children who grew up and brought their families to us.
We welcome new patients! We offer comprehensive dental services to all of our patients by providing personalized care for your individual needs and requirements.
Our goal is to provide a wide range of high quality, oral health services in a caring, supportive and professional environment. We work diligently to provide our patients with the highest level of dental care.

Dr Tim Cheesman
Dental Surgeon
Dr. Tim Cheesman graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2007, with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. He completed his Biomedical Science Degree with Honours (BSc.) at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario and is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, Ontario Dental Association and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. He continually expands his dental knowledge and education by attending regular conferences and learning new skills, which he implements in his practice.
Dr. Cheesman provides a friendly and relaxing atmosphere and is sensitive to his patients’ comfort and well-being. He enjoys all aspects of family dentistry and provides an array of services, including cosmetic and veneer cases, bridges and crowns, dental implants and orthodontics (Invisalign).
He is excellent with children and strives to set their minds at ease by providing a positive and fun dental experience.
He resides in Springwater and enjoys spending time with his wife, three children and dog. He enjoys an active lifestyle, which includes a love of both summer and winter sports; mountain biking, hiking, fishing, skiing, and snowshoeing.
Karen
Office Manager/Receptionist
Karen has been working for the office since 1987. She graduated with honours at Georgian College as a Medical Secretary. She started out as our receptionist and progressed to our office manager. Karen loves camping, reading and making cards. Basically, she loves to make a mess! She loves to interact with our patients, which means she loves to talk!
Tama
Certified Dental Assistant/Receptionist
Tama is a Certified Level II Dental Assistant and receptionist. She has been in the dental field for over 25 years. Her job presents differently every single day on a patient-to-patient basis. What stays the same though, is how she strives to make patients feel comfortable from the moment they enter the office to the moment they leave. In her spare time, she likes to paint, to crochet, and she loves camping with her family in the warmer months. In the colder months, she loves to cross-country ski or travel to some place warm!
Jana
Dental Assistant/Receptionist
Jane is a Certified Dental Assistant and receptionist. She has been working with Dr. Cheesman since 2011 and has been working in our office since 2016. She says she is awesome, which she is!
Jennifer
Certified Dental Assistant/Receptionist
Jennifer graduated as a Dental Assistant in 1995 and has been working ever since. She has been with the office since 2022, however, has worked with Dr. Cheesman since 2010, when he was at her old office.
Shirley
Registered Dental Hygienist
Shirley is originally from Ottawa and graduated from Algonquin College. She enjoys working at Essa Dental Centre and has been here forever, mainly because of the amazing patients and dedicated staff.
Michelle
Registered Dental Hygienist
Michelle graduated from Georgian College in 2006 as a Registered Dental Hygienist and has been in the dental field since 2000. She has been a part of our team since 2007. She enjoys photography and spending time with her family.
Catherine
Registered Dental Hygienist
Catherine graduated with honours from Georgian College as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2009, to start this second career that she loves. She has been with our team since 2014.
Sundae
Registered Restorative Dental Hygienist
Sundae graduated from George College as a Registered Dental Hygienist. While practicing, she continued her education and graduated from George Brown College as a Registered Restorative Dental Hygienist. She enjoys working in a positive team environment and strives to provide high quality care for her clients. It is important to her that her patients experience valuable and open communication in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Sundae enjoys an active lifestyle of cycling, hiking, skating, skiing, and snowshoeing.
Emily
Registered Dental Hygienist
Emily has been in dentistry for over 25 years and graduated from the Canadian Academy of Dental Hygiene in 2006 as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She has worked with Dr. Cheesman since 2010. She values educating patients on their oral health and strives for the best in preventative care with a gentle touch. Emily loves her Peloton Bike, pilates and enjoys being social and listening to live music on the weekends.
